The located of Al-Hikam islamic boarding school in Tanjung Bumi village, Burneh district, Bangkalan, Madura. The system of education is nearly the same as private and state school but more intensive in religious preaching prevailed. In this cafe, we also try so many traditional foods from Madura like apen, kocor, klanting, serabi, etc.

Taman Budaya “Cak Durasim”

      Cak Durasim is nearly equivalent to “a hero of art.” It has been always a notion when it comes to art therefore Cak Durasim is always been a clue to talk about traditional art and the history of art itself. It has been taken claim as the fancy museum of art so-called “Taman Budaya Jawa Timur” and building was officially launched by the Education Minister of the Indonesia back in May 20 1978.

      Yes, it is always cultural event held by the host – Cak Durasim is the person who responsible in honor – and it was held by Trenggalek Regency. It was all about traditional dance, wayang and traditional art being exposed during the event. Czech students from Palacky University are the invited one in the event. They are nicely welcomed by the host within the warm greeting and beverage they have provided. They also enjoyed being in the oppurtunity and had a chance to talk with Minister of Trenggalek and his wife.

Surabaya Heroes Monument

      Tugu Pahlawan is a monument placed in Surabaya, it’s the most iconic monument in the city. This monument was dedicated to all people who died during the Battle of Surabaya on November 10, 1945. In the areas of the monument there is a museum namely 10 November museum. The museum is placed under the monument. The museum built to give more information about The Heroes Monument .

Monumen Kapal Selam

      Monumen Kapal Selam or Monkasel is biggest submarine monument in Asia. It is built in river side of Kalimas River, in Surabaya. This monument built by ideas of elders of Submarine from the Navy. This monument was built as tourism destination in East Java, as history to show that Indonesia is maritime country, as conservation of history, and as memory to all heroes of Indonesia. This monument displays a real submarine, it was KRI Pasopati 410.

Karapan Sapi

      Karapan Sapi, one of iconic Madura’s annual traditional event, is kind of bull racing tournament. It is usually held in week and end up within August to September, or ideally before or after the fasting month. Date back to the early begin, Karapan Sapi has existed since fifteen century. The championship starts in district level to the regency level and moving forward to the residence level. At last, the final will be held on September or October in the city of Pamekasan to compete for President Cup. Czech student was very happy because they can directly saw the bull race. They was enjoy and really appreciate the culture.

      I am living in Indonesia with no hot water? Okay, I am in my culture shock now. Yes, it is a lecture which is going to discuss about living eastern and western. They have an activity in single discussing about cross-cultural phase, latest experience in Madura and learn some regulations living in Indonesia. It has been real time facing some teachers who present a lot about Indonesia and the cultures, and it was good because they had interactive discussion after.

Indonesian Traditional Dishes “Sayur Asem”

      Sayur asem is typically Indonesian vegetable soup. This soup sayur asem, kind of vegetable soup is one of the most popular soup in Indonesia, particularly in East and Central Java. It is easy for anyone to cook the dishes instantly. This dish is typical Indonesia. The ingredients needed are tamarind (tropical fruit), garlics, onions, water spinach, cucumber, salt, sugar and cabbage.

Batik

      Madura is also popular because of its outrageous batik. One of batik home industries in Madura socalled “Peri Kecil” which is l o c a t e d i n B u r n e h , Sumenep Regency. Burneh is well-known as the center of batik home industry in Bangkalan. Madura batik has different characteristic to Java’s especially its colour.

      Madura Batik usually has a clear and strong colour like red, green and yellow with bird, flower and dragon as the motif of nature. The students from Czech had fun with drawing batik pattern by their own. The motifs were all creative and innovative. They are also proud to buy batik and wear it later home.

Sumenep Tourism

Lombang Beach

      Lombang beach is an interesting tourism place to visit and promote around the world. It is located in South of Java Island which facilitate the visitor well. The other facility around Lombang beach are foods and beverage merchants, for instances rujak and iced-coconut. The beach is very clean and has clear blue water with some small corals of white sand. They feel joy in the middle of sunset within the beautiful landscape of sea.

Desa Pasir

      In Madura, there are some unique custom that peopleuse sand as mattress. It is located in Legung Timur and Legung Barat Village, in Batang-batang District, Sumenep. The people believe that this sand can give cool sensation in hot season, warm in cold season, and the sand will avoid people from black magic. This special sand has soft texture and smooth.
      When they sleep, the sand will give cool and comfortable feeling. This sand grain will not stick to skin. To keep clean, all sand bed always get drying in the sun periodically.

Bangkalan Tourism

      Mercusuar, an outrageous Madura’s tower to visit in Bangkalan, possess hilarious landscape of nature when people reach the top by approximately sixteen stages. The view they offer is that landscape of seas and ponds surrounding the tower.

      Jaddih is one of the artificial tourism in Bangkalan city, Madura. We can go to the top of the hill, enjoy the view, and take a photograph of the beautiful scenery. At that time, the activity in this hill is not conducted well because the color of weather is bad in time. However, Czech students loved the weather so much and they enjoy strolling around, or even to reach the top of the hill accompanied by teacher and guide from University of Trunojoyo Madura.

Borobudur ( Museum & Temple )

      T o u c h t h e stupa, close your eyes and make your wish comes true. As one of the seven wonders in the world, Borobudur temple is a new destination to visit for the student during their internship in Indonesia. The typical sculpture stone the temple possessed had their attention and they wanted to know the possible historical background about Buddhism in the past. The atmosphere was not fading away even the-sun-kissed-theskin-so-hot happened during the tour. Some of Czech students still enjoyed capturing moment to bring home.
      After having fun with the temple, the museum is waiting for them to be visited. The museum contains description of the historical part of Buddhism and prominent figure in the past. They learn about the relation between Buddhism and Indonesia

Pindul Cave ( Tubing Cave )

      Pindul Cave is a cave formed by Karst which has Underground River. It is one of the tourism places in Jogjakarta. It placed around 7 kilometers south of the city of Wonosari, Gunung Kidul. The visitors can do cave tubing here. They use the tires that float above the underground river inside the cave.
      The students of University of Palacky and the official of international office of University of Trunojoyo Madura enjoys the Cave tubing at that moment. They looked so excited for their first cave tubing activity.

Indrayanti Beach

      Smile appears in their faces after the long journey to find out Indrayanti Beach. The students enjoy the panorama and the huge wave. Some of the students were swimming while the others were taking picture. The white sand, and some coral hills give them the real essense of tropical nature.

Malang Tourism

      Go get your cup because it is tea time. Tea Park so-called “Kebun Teh Wonosari” is known as one of the best tea harvest in Java, which is located in the middle of boarder of Malang and Surabaya. The park has some buildings that indicate some manufactures, for instances Tea House and Tea Factory and souvenir shops. In this case, it has also fun time outbound experience such as climbing, flying fox, mini-zoo and swimming pool. The tea harvest is advance and wide. The visitors may go further around the garden and meet some of local workers who pick some of leaves. Czech students met a few local people in the garden and they talked to each other. It is nothing but sweetness of life because they work too hard for the best of tea experience in Malang. They also bring back some tea home.

Bromo Mountain

      It is around four hours to drive from Surabaya, the capita od East Java, Mount Bromo is a part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park that covers a massive are of 800 square kilometers. Its spectacular views and dramatic landscapes dercribe the other side of Mount Bromo. At 2393 meters tall, Mt. Bromo is not among the tallest of Indonesia’s mountains but its stunning beauty lies in its incredible setting. Desert lies around Mt Bromo is the beauty that mostly attract lots of visitors. Riding horses or using jeep are the transportation to cross the desert in order to reach the crater.
