MESRA OUTREACH UTM- UTP COLLABORATION OF ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL PROGRAM 2019
On 22nd of April – 2nd of May 2019, 20 students and 3 lecturers from University of Technology Petronas (UTP) came to University of Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) to do a Collaboration with the economic students of UTM for ten days. It is called as UTM – UTP – Mesra Outreach Collaboration of Academic and Social Program. There are many things were done in this agenda. Cross culture understanding class, social service, elucidation and training about water filter and paper recycle for the people who live near by the sea in Socah district, visiting Petronas Company for learning about the management system of handling the production practice of oil and PT. Madura Guano Industry for learning about producing organic fertilizer, visiting Goa Pote Jaddih Hill,and making batik at Peri Kecil Batik House
Cross culture understanding class was done ineconomic building, both of the representatives of UTM and UTP give their nice presentation about Indonesian and Malaysian Cultures. Besides, Dr. Norida as the lecturer representative also share and gave a training for UTM students about academic writing after the cross culture understanding presentation. The students from both universities were so excited to have that class, moreover those who were doing their thesis research. It was very useful for them. One of the most exciting agenda for UTP students was making Batik because it was their fist time to do it. They said hat it was very nice and educational agenda because finally they were able to understand why did the price of batik in their country was expensive. To make a great batik product was not easy, they have to be very creative and passion during they drew the pattern on the fabric with canting. Besides, there are many steps after drawing the pattern to be able to produce one layers of Batik which usually called as Samper in Madura.
